Since April 2020, pharmacist Kees Steenbeek of the Hessen Apotheek in De Bilt has used Easy Filling, a local-filling sorting solution from FarmaSort. And he is thoroughly satisfied: “The system is very easy to use, saves a lot of time, and FarmaSort is a customer-focused company.”
Before that, the pharmacy team worked the traditional way. Each morning, orders were unpacked from crates and filed alphabetically in drawer cabinets, prescriptions written up and picked by hand. They deliberately chose not to use central filling, because of the cost, and because you want to be able to serve the patient straight away.

Every morning before 11 a.m., the team prepares the bulk of e-prescriptions. The pharmacy system orders automatically from the wholesaler.
The next day the medicines arrive unsorted in order bins, completely mixed up.
Each package is scanned. Easy Filling immediately points to the right compartment and automatically prints the matching label.
The medicines sit neatly per patient in a compartment. With 24 compartments, the team prepares 24 patients at once, ready for immediate pickup.
The large bulk of repeat prescriptions now melts away every day. Patients pick up their order the next day and are notified as soon as it is ready.

From twelve to five drawer-cabinet blocks, and from metres of back-orders to just 6–7 products awaiting delivery.
