How many products can a FarmaSort system process?

That depends on the system. The MicroSorter sorts up to 1500 products per hour, Speed Filling processes up to 450 prescription lines per hour with 2 people, Roto Filling sorts 600 items per hour with 1 operator, and Easy Filling is the entry-level solution handling 177 prescriptions per hour with 3 people. All systems are modularly expandable.

Which medication forms can be sorted?

Blister rolls (directly from the blister machine), blister cards (unit-dose), Baxter bags (IV fluids), medicine boxes (original packaging from small box to bulk). The system sorts by ward, patient, route or expiry date (FEFO).

How much space do I need?

The footprint is fully configurable to your available space. The Roto Filling fits in just 2 m², the Easy Filling is a freestanding cabinet, and the MicroSorter is custom-dimensioned. A FarmaSort engineer visits your site and designs the system within your existing space. No new construction is needed.

How long does installation take?

The actual on-site installation takes 1 to 2 days. We determine the configuration together beforehand. After placement we configure, test and validate the system at your location. The impact on your daily operation is minimal.

Does FarmaSort work with our current blister machine and software?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The MicroSorter integrates with all common blister machines (Swisslog, Sinteco, Euraf and others) and connects via standard interfaces to your pharmacy software (CGM, Chipsoft and other systems). Our engineers handle the complete connection and test the line at your location.

Do the systems meet GDP/GMP requirements?

Yes. All FarmaSort systems are designed for regulated pharmaceutical environments. Every sort is logged with timestamp, operator ID and batch number. The systems are prepared for IQ/OQ/PQ validation and support FMD serialisation via barcode and data matrix readers. Ready for GDP and IGJ inspections.

What maintenance is required?

Preventive maintenance takes place 1 to 2 times per year, depending on operating hours. Service contracts are available ranging from business hours to 24/7 with remote monitoring. FarmaSort is the only European manufacturer: parts, expertise and support come from a single source, with delivery within 24 hours in the Benelux.

Do staff need training?

Operators are productive within half a day. The sorting process is greatly simplified with automatic checks and LED indication. This means sorting can also be performed by logistics staff. For administrators and key users we offer a more comprehensive training of 1 to 2 days.

Can I do a test sort with our own products first?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You send us your blister rolls, cards or boxes, and we demonstrate the sorting in our test facility in the Netherlands. This way you see exactly how the system handles your product mix beforehand. For larger projects, an on-site pilot can be arranged.

What support and warranty do you offer?

Standard hardware warranty with extension options up to 5 years. Speed Filling comes with a standard 5-year warranty on moving parts. Can the MicroSorter also be used outside the pharmacy?
